Privacy Policy

Tool Inputs

When you use the Cashback Hive ChatGPT app, we receive only the inputs needed to fulfill your request. For offer lookups this includes merchant names, a short search query (1–3 words), a two-letter country code, and an optional sort preference. We do not receive your full conversation history.

Account Context (Optional)

If you choose to sign in to your Cashback Hive account within the ChatGPT app, we receive your Cashback Hive user identifier so we can personalize tracked links and return your cashback balance and recent transaction history. Signing in is optional — offer lookups work without it.

Offer Lookup

We use your search query and/or merchant names to match retailers in our database and return cashback rates, coupon codes, and tracked shopping links. Country is used to filter offers by availability.

Balance and Transaction History

If you are signed in, we use your account identifier to retrieve your pending, confirmed, and paid cashback totals and your recent transaction history.

Embedding Generation

Short search queries may be sent to the OpenAI Embeddings API to generate a vector used for semantic store matching. The query text is not stored by us after the embedding is generated.

OpenAI

Your requests and our responses are transmitted through the OpenAI ChatGPT platform. Short search queries may also be sent to the OpenAI Embeddings API for store matching. OpenAI's use of this data is governed by OpenAI's own privacy policy and usage policies.

Infrastructure Providers

We use third-party services for hosting, database, content management, and authentication. These providers process data on our behalf under contractual data-protection obligations.

Affiliate and Redirect Partners

When you use a tracked link, identifiers needed to route you to the merchant and attribute cashback are shared with our affiliate and redirect partners. We do not share your Cashback Hive password or the contents of your ChatGPT conversations with merchants.

Restricted Data

We do not collect payment card numbers, bank credentials, passwords, API keys, MFA/OTP codes, government identifiers (e.g. SSNs), or protected health information through the ChatGPT app.

Precise Location

We use only a two-letter country code for offer filtering. We do not request GPS coordinates, city names, or street addresses.

Full Chat History

The app operates only on the specific inputs the ChatGPT client sends for each tool call. We do not request, reconstruct, or store your full conversation.

Sign-In Is Optional

You can use offer lookup without signing in. Balance and transaction features require authentication.

Disconnect the App

You can disconnect the Cashback Hive ChatGPT app at any time through ChatGPT's connected-app settings.

Account Deletion

You may request deletion of your Cashback Hive account and associated data by contacting privacy@cashbackhive.com.
